Yoga in the Snow
Due to a very steep, slanted, frozen driveway I couldn't make it out to a yoga class I wanted to join. I listened to my intuition, and it told me to stay put on this frozen morning. My lesson: I will be parking my car on the street now that people depend on me to lead classes this winter.
On days like this, I am glad that yoga is such a readily available form of exercise and meditation. No equipment necessary. Just by doing several sun salutations in my living room, I felt the blood moving, my body heated up instantly. My joints became lubricated, relieving me from the stiffness that cold weather brings. It also kept me warm enough to sit in silence for several minutes to meditate.
I encourage all who find themselves stuck at home this winter to continue practicing yoga in your home, even if for only 15 minutes. Keep healthy, strong and safe in these cold times.
